My husband and I moved to Eau Claire for work, and didn't know anyone else in the area. We were traveling to Menomonie every Sunday to attend church with his family. We just didn't feel like we were supposed to be going there, and we also weren't paying attention like we should have been. I was invited to Renew and said that we would come check it out just to be nice, with no intention of actually ever coming. About a month and a half after that, my husband and I got into a discussion about why we were going to church, what it meant to us, and if or how we apply it to our lives. We were running late that day so we decided to try Renew because we could still make that service. Pastor Jamie spoke that day on the exact topic of our discussion that morning: why are you coming to church, what does it mean to you, and how are you applying it. We felt like we were supposed to be there.
After attending Renew a few times, we started getting connected to people. We felt like we finally had the community we were longing for. We felt at peace for the first time since we moved to Eau Claire that we were meant to be here, that God had a purpose for us. Our lives have been changed because of the relationships we have made. We're so thankful for the ways we've already seen God work. We can't wait to see what else He has in store for us and Renew!

I was born and raised in Eau Claire and grew up attending church with my family. I enjoyed being involved in church and I loved God. As I transitioned to college, I stopped attending church and lost touch with God as other things in life became a priority. After college, I knew my life was missing something, but didn't realize how much I needed God and struggled to feel his presence in my life. That struggle continued for 13 years while I was in and out (mostly out if I'm honest) of many different churches trying to find God again and wanting so much to fit in. While talking with a friend, I mentioned I was looking for a church and asked where she went. That is how I heard about Renew. I decided to try it out with the thought that I had nothing to lose and at least I would know one person. I found the people at Renew to be friendly and authentic, and I felt God's presence through the messages. I started to see the miracle of each person God was placing in my life to show me what a gift community is in my journey to live out his plan for me. Over time, I realized I never really wanted to fit in; I wanted to belong. That meant I needed a place where I could be me right where I was at in life. I have found that at Renew and continue to reconnect with my God who was always present.

We want to hear how God is bringing real transformation to your life.
Why tell your story?
Our transformation story is the best tool we have to spread the Good News. It is personal, it is real, and it is the thing we know the most about our own experience with God.
Write your story down.
Take some time to sit down, pray, and write out your personal testimony asking the Holy Spirit for help. Writing it down will help you organize your thoughts.
How long should it be?
Your story should be able to be told in 3 minutes or less. This may seem like a challenge but a good story should be engaging and concise.

Focus on three areas of your life:
1

Your life before Christ
2

How you met Christ
3

The Difference Jesus has made in your life
